3. How to redeem

Before attempting to redeem the promotion, you must:

Be on a carrier data network or Wi-Fi
Have a Google Account set up on your device, so that your Google Drive credit can be applied accordingly.
Be redeeming this offer for the first time, whether on this device or another
If you want to redeem this promotion, and this is your first time launching the Google Drive Application, follow these steps:

Launch the ‘Drive’ app located in the applications tray or the Google folder on the homescreen.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
The offer page will appear, then press ‘redeem’, and you will be prompted to choose the Google account that you want the extra storage applied to
If you have previously launched Google Drive, but did not redeem:

Launch the Google Drive application.
Select the “Product Tour” option from the Application menu
The offer page will appear, and you can start the redemption steps outlined above.


Tips:

If the redemption screen does not appear, you might have already used the offer on this phone.

After a successful redemption, the extra storage credit will be applied to your Google Account.
You can check what your Google Drive available storage is from the ‘Settings’ menu within the Google Drive application. It might take a few minutes for this setting to reflect the additional 50 GB after a redemption. You can always check your Google Drive storage settings online.
If you choose not to redeem at this time, do not press Redeem, press Next or Go to Drive instead. You can redeem later by going to Drive > Menu > Product Tour


4. Troubleshooting

4.1. Offer Expired

If Google Drive displays “offer expired” in the offer screen, the offer has expired on this device. To be eligible receive an additional 50GB of Google Drive storage space for 2 years, you must redeem this offer within 30 days of activation of your new MOTO G phone.

4.2 Failure to retrieve offer

If the ‘Redeem’ button on the offer page disappears, and Google Drive display an error indicating ‘Failed retrieving offer from server, please try again’, we were not able to obtain a voucher for your device from our servers.

What are the possible causes ?

You are not connected to a data network (your carrier’s data network or wifi); or have temporarily lost data connection
You are attempting to redeem from a device which is not eligible for this promotion.
How do you fix it ?

Make sure that you are on a live data network (with a data plan) or on WiFi before retrying. Once you are on a data network, close the Drive application, relaunch it and go to the “Product Tour” option in the application
If you still see this issue after having established a data connection, then please contact Moto Care.
4.3. Failure to Connect to Redemption Server

If redemption fails and the Google Drive application displays “could not connect to the redemption server” error message, the redemption failed.

What are the possible causes ?

Your device is not on a data network or WiFi, temporarily lost connection, or
the redemption server is temporarily unavailable or offline
How do you fix it ?

Try again later, you can access the redemption screen again on subsequent Google Drive launches from the “Product Tour” menu
Make sure that you are on a live data network (with a data plan) or on WiFi before retrying.
Once you are on a data network, close the Drive application, relaunch it and go to the “Product Tour” option in the application menu. You should see the redeem button.
If you encounter this error more than 2x times over 24 hours, contact Moto Care to report potential issue with the voucher redeeming service.

4.4. Offer already redeemed

If redemption fails and the Google Drive application displays “offer already redeemed” error message, this means that the offer was already redeemed on this device; or you have already used this Google ID to redeem a similar offer.

What does this mean ?

The offer for this phone was already redeemed. The unique voucher associated to your phone has already been consumed to apply the promotion
You have already claimed this offer, from another device, but against the same Google ID. You can only claim the offer once against a given Google ID within a 12 month period.
How is it diagnosed ?

You will see an “This offer has already been redeemed” message when trying to redeem.
What are the possible causes ?

You have already redeemed the offer on this phone. This offer is only available once per phone.
You have already redeemed this offer on another phone, but for the same Google ID. You must select a different Google Account to apply the promotion to; or wait until the initial 12 month period has passed to attempt redemption again from this device.
You might see this error after a factory data reset or if another user redeemed the offer from your phone against their own Google account.
How do you fix it ?

If you have already redeemed the offer on this device, you will not be able to redeem again.
You must select a different Google Account to apply the promotion to; or wait until the initial 12 month period has passed to attempt redemption again from this device.
5. Terms and Conditions

To receive an additional 50GB of Google Drive storage space for 2 years, you must redeem this offer within 30 days of activation of your new MOTO G phone. To redeem this offer, you must purchase a Moto G phone and log into the Google Drive application on your MOTO G using your Google account id. This offer is limited to a single Google account, as identified by a unique ID, can only be redeemed once per Google account ID, can not be combined with other offers, and and is not transferable. At the end of the 2-year promotional period, the user will still be able to access their files stored in the additional 50GB of storage, but will not be able to add new ones.
