This tri-band hotspot provides super-high-speed data for up to 10 devices. The powerful 2500 mAh battery will keep you connected for up to 10 hours of continuous use on a single charge.
Netgear® 341U USB Modem: A savvy travel solution gets even savvier thanks to Sprint Spark. The 341U has long been a business favorite because of its portability and ease-of-use. When used in Sprint Spark coverage, it becomes even more indispensable.
MiFi® 500 LTE by Novatel: The MiFi 500 LTE provides a portable network solution that is as affordable as it is fast. In a Sprint Spark coverage area it becomes a viable alternative to traditional broadband providers, offering our fastest wireless speeds at an unbelievable value.

Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy S4 mini will support Sprint Spark enhanced LTE

Sprint has confirmed that two Samsung devices – Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Galaxy S4 mini will take advantage of Sprint Spark technology. Sprint Spark combines three bands of 4G LTE wireless spectrum – 800MHz, 1.9GHz and 2.5GHz by providing continuous data coverage as the device hops between different spectrum bands. Sprint says the switch happens instantly and seamlessly and results in a “more fluid and responsive data experience.”
Both Samsung devices will be available on Sprint from November 8 for $199.99 and $99.99 for the Galaxy Mega and Galaxy S4 mini respectively and will become tri-band enabled after a software update that will be rolled out after the launch.

Galaxy S4 mini and Mega 6.3 coming to Sprint on Nov. 8, will support Sprint Spark LTE network

Sprint has announced that it will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega 6.3 on November 8th, and that both devices will support the new Sprint Spark tri-band LTE network. Sprint Spark is an enhanced LTE network designed to achieve high data speeds, coverage, and throughput by combining three bands of 4G LTE wireless spectrum, and both Samsung devices will support this network, though the Galaxy Mega will get support via a software update post-launch.

The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will cost $199.99 on a two-year contract, and sports a 6.3-inch 720p display, dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy S4 mini will cost $99.99 and shares most of the specs of the Mega, though the screen is smaller at 4.3-inch (qHD resolution).

Baksangjin Samsung SDI "is warped battery production"

Samsung SDI president baksangjin warped form of smart phone battery that can also be said the current production.

President of the 30th night of the building opened in Seocho Samsung Electronics CEOs demand to meet with reporters after the meeting, "warped form of smartphone batteries ready for mass production," he "(the production of) of Samsung Electronics said, I do not have an order," he said.

Earlier this month, Samsung launched surface smartphone 'Galaxy round' 2000 800mAh battery capacity is relatively insufficient. Capacity of 3000 mAh or more recent years, mostly in high-end smart phone market has been pointed out as a weakness. Previous' Galaxy Note 3 "is the battery capacity 200mAh 3000.

Samsung SDI CEO baksangjin ▲ In contrast to the main body of the smart phone because the battery is flat. Smartphone battery size that is bent in the plane, aligning capacity could grow.

If the surface of LG smartphones to be released next month, 'G Flex' warped batteries made by LG Chem in plans to mount. 300mAh capacity to 3000 'Galaxy Note 3 "is more generous.

In addition, the 'stack and folding (Stack & Folding)' when bending to receive the technology that is characterized by a relatively low physical impact.

LG Electronics recently released the following information, Samsung's smartphone could bend the battery and threw the message attacks.

Warped because battery technology has already prepared the night the president's remarks seem to lead to different interpretations. Returns the angle, not Samsung, Samsung SDI curved side mount battery means that you need more preparation is also a pool.

Fin battery made by Samsung SDI and Samsung Electronics is noteworthy that very difficult to introduce. Samsung smartphone shipments recent quarter, more than 80 million. Samsung SDI battery supply volume alone can not take this period to some other companies charge.

Samsung to curved battery volume shipments smartphone makers Samsung SDI, as well as the charging structure is also required preparation time.

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, a high-end smartphone market to solve the problem saturated surface smartphones will spur more development. Competition Battery Point is watching how the progress map key.

Meanwhile, last night the 17th President of the Overseas 'Galaxy S4' battery fever, swollen about the problem "(the battery) is not our product" and "Samsung SDI supply the battery for the Galaxy S4, but we no products there is no problem, "he has said.

Report: Samsung ready to mass produce curved batteries

The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 3,200mAh battery. The Galaxy Round, which has exactly the same specs as the Note 3 except for the lack of stylus support, comes with a 2,800mAh battery. Why? Well, because while the Galaxy Round is curved, its battery is flat and straight like standard batteries, only elongated so it can fit underneath the back cover. This is in stark contrast to LG – its curved smartphone, the G Flex, comes with a battery capacity of 3,500mAh, considerably more than the Round’s, thanks to the use of a curved battery.

Now, Samsung might be ready to produce curved/warped batteries as well, according to the Korean media, which means we’ll likely see a larger battery inside the company’s second-generation curved smartphone. The Galaxy Round’s curved display has already been said to be more than just a gimmick, and here’s hoping the battery capacity isn’t a negative point on the spec list of its successors.

Samsung Follows In LG’s Footsteps, Ready To Mass Produce Curved / Warped Batteries

As you should recall, not long ago Samsung has unveiled its first smartphone boasting a curved display. We’re referring, of course, to the Galaxy Round. You may also be aware of the fact that the Round shares many similarities with the Note 3 in terms of hardware specifications. Both devices feature a 5.7 inch display with a 1080p resolution, the same amount of RAM and the same processor. However, Note 3′s battery has considerably more “juice” than the one found powering the Galaxy Round, with the latter delivering a 3,200 mAh unit and the former featuring a smaller, 2,800 mAh battery. So what gives?

Well, the reason why the Round has a smaller battery is because of the curved nature of the device. The Korean manufacturer hasn’t done any changes in its battery tech for the Round, and the handset is being powered by a standard Li-Ion slab that comes in a different, more rectangular form factor in order to fit the design. In contrast, the LG G Flex -which also features a curved display- comes with a much more generous 3,500 mAh unit. This was possible due to LG’s implementation of a curved battery (as opposed to the “Stepped” manufacturing process of LG G2′s battery), so you could say that LG is a step forward in this regard. However, it looks like the current situation will not last too long.

In our digging for hot bits of information regarding the future of the mobile market, we’ve stumbled across fresh reports coming from Korea, indicating that Samsung is now ready to mass produce curved / warped batteries (this statement pertains to Samsung SDI’s president, making it as official as it gets).

This will evidently allow the manufacturer to create larger, more generous units that could be fitted on curved devices. So, does this mean that we might get to see more curved smartphones in the foreseeable future? I’m pretty certain that we will, especially given the limited release of the Galaxy Round. Not to mention the fact that Samsung could produce these types of batteries for other smartphone manufacturers as well.

One last thing that we should note is that these warped / curved batteries are not the same as the solid state flexible units of which we’ve discussed not too long ago. That type of technology is still in its early stages of development, and it could take roughly two years before it will go into mass production.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Might Not Feature An OIS Enabled Camera After All

Smartphone cameras are getting more and more powerful nowadays, and they slowly tend to replace the regular point-and-shoot solutions. As such, one of the most sought-after feature in a smartphone camera is OIS (optical image stabilization), a technology that basically makes images look less blurry. There are a handful of smartphones out there that already make extensive use of OIS, including the LG G2. Evidently, Samsung is not really happy about that, given the fact that the Galaxy Note 3 is lacking this particular technology.

Anyhow, there have been quite a few rumors suggesting that the Galaxy S5 will deliver OIS in its camera, but according to the latest reports, it might not be the case after all. Join us after the break and find out the alleged reasons.

According to the Korean media, Samsung might not be able to fit an OIS-enabled camera on its next flagship after all. The alleged reasons are not new, and it has to do with Samsung’s suppliers – the same rumored reason why the Note 3 is lacking this feature. If the success of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a clear indicator of how sought-after the SGS5 will be, according to the source, the company’s suppliers will not be able to keep up. That’s why Samsung is debating, internally, how to proceed. Given how OIS capabilities will become mandatory for a 2014 flagship phones, this might end up causing the manufacturer to push back the Galaxy S5.

The good news however, is that Samsung seems to plan on developing more and more hardware in-house, in an attempt to prevent these types of situations. For instance, the Note 3 was supposed to pack a fingerprint scanner as well, but the chip that was originally developed by a 3rd party supplier failed to pass the Q&A tests. As such, recent reports have suggested that Samsung is now working on an in-house fingerprint scanner that may be ready for mass production at the beginning of 2014.

In other words, while Samsung is doing great and manages to push more and more smartphones on the market, the high demand also seems to hinder the production of new technologies. Hopefully, the manufacturer will start producing its own parts sooner rather than later, and perhaps the company will manage to develop its own OIS-enabled camera before the Galaxy S5 will hit the conveyor belts. We’ll keep an eye out, so stay tuned.

Galaxy S5 camera might not have optical image stabilization

Optical image stabilization (OIS) has become quite an important feature on smartphones these days, with manufacturers like Nokia, HTC, and LG having implemented it on their flagship devices’ cameras. The Galaxy Note 3 was originally rumored to have OIS as well, and while that didn’t pan out, the rumor mill started pointing towards the Galaxy S5 as being the first Samsung flagship that would have OIS (the Galaxy S4 Zoom already has it, but that’s more of a camera than a smartphone).

However, a report by ETNews suggests that even the Galaxy S5′s camera might miss out on optical image stabilization, as Samsung’s supply partners will be unable to manufacture enough components. For the amount of units that Samsung sells of each of its flagships, that isn’t surprising, and the lack of OIS will be quite disappointing (especially if you go by how finicky and shaky the Galaxy Note 3 is when taking pictures, often resulting in blurry pictures).

Samsung has been reportedly looking at producing its own camera modules, and that might be the only way left for them if OIS is a feature they want to flaunt when unveiling their next flagship. Fingers crossed they find a solution in time, instead of making us wait till the Galaxy Note 4.

Android 4.3 And Galaxy Gear Update For Sprint's Galaxy S4 Is Ready, Right On Schedule [Update]

Verizon got it first (for once), but now it's time for Samsung Galaxy S4 owners on Sprint to get their Android 4.3 update on. The over-the-air download should be disseminating today, though we've yet to see confirmation from Sprint itself. Assuming that it is indeed going out, the update comes right on schedule, according to a leaked Samsung document.
sprints4update
In addition to the standard Android 4.3 features, the OTA download (L720VPUAMJA) delivers compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and Samsung's Knox encryption system. If there are any other significant changes to the software Samsung isn't saying, but you can expect tweaks to various TouchWiz apps and settings. There's no word on the download size, either.
If you don't see the update, keep in mind that carriers tend to send these things out in waves. It may be a day or two before the new software reaches your phone... and then another couple of days for it to download on Sprint's network.
Update: Yup, looks like the update is already going out for at least some Sprint users. it's a whopping 537MB download, so head for the nearest WiFi hotspot if you can. Thanks to commenterfirecar25 for the screenshot.

Sprint now rolling out Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4

Verizon surprised everyone by becoming the first carrier to roll out the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4, and now Sprint is following in Verizon’s footsteps – Galaxy S4 users on Sprint’s network can now upgrade to the latest version of Android over the air, and get new features such as faster performance (thanks to TRIM support), Galaxy Gear support, improved camera firmware and features, KNOX functionality, and other minor improvements and tweaks.
The update is rather large at 537MB, so be sure you’re on a Wi-Fi network before downloading (unless you’re on an unlimited mobile data plan, in which case you have nothing to worry about). As always, the rollout is gradual so you might not see a notification for the update immediately, though you can keep checking regularly from the Settings » About phone » Software update menu.

Samsung ships 5 million Galaxy Note 3 in a month

We know Samsung’s latest flagship device – Galaxy Note 3 is doing good in the market and the number confirmed by JK Shin today resonates the fact. At a press briefing in Korea, JK Shin confirmed that they’ve managed to ship 5 million Galaxy Note 3s to sales channels, carriers etc. Samsung never confirms the actual consumer sales but this figure is also a good proof on the traction of the Galaxy Note 3.
Galaxy Note 3 builds on the success of previous two Galaxy Note devices, which took 5 months (Galaxy Note) and 2 months (Galaxy Note II) to reach the same 5 million shipment figure.
According to Shin, Galaxy Note 3 has seen a good market response compared to its predecessors that brings improved S Pen input along with the new Air Command feature.

Samsung debuts commercial starring LeBron James during NBA opening night

It was only earlier this week that we heard of Samsung entering a deal with the National Basketball Association, and the Korean manufacturer followed up by releasing an ad during the first quarter of the Miami Heat’s season opener against the Chicago Bulls, starring four-time NBA MVP LeBron James.
The 2-minute video shows LeBron going through various activities and capturing the moments on Samsung devices like the new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition, like hitting a golf ball into the water, video chatting with family, playing hoops in the driveway with his son, and working out with his teammates. It’s a nice little commercial that is sure to give exposure to Samsung’s already-over-marketed devices, and you can watch it in full right below.
